The story of this place

The Spit at the northern end of the Gold Coast provides the most iconic panoramic view of the Surfers Paradise skyline. The narrow stretch of land separates the Pacific Ocean from the Broadwater, creating compositions that include both the high-rise cityscape and natural water elements. Sunset from the west illuminates the tower facades in warm gold and creates reflections in the Broadwater. The Sand Pumping Jetty provides an elevated platform and leading line into the composition. Night long exposures turn the city lights into a colourful reflection on the still water. The Q1 Building observation deck at 322 metres provides an aerial perspective looking down the coast.
